Antrim Walmart Warehouse Case Study
LB Water - Strategic Planning and Communication
The Antrim Walmart Warehouse brings together LB Water, Mele & Mele & Sons, ADS, and Guyer Brothers in close collaboration.
Background
Mele & Mele & Sons, Inc. is a family-owned contractor based out of the Pittsburgh area. The bulk of their work is commercial site work, municipal waterline projects, and sewer/water plant projects. They focus mainly on Pennsylvania and the Tri-State area near the greater Pittsburgh region.
The Story
Mele & Mele & Sons was the Utility and Earth contractors on the Antrim Walmart warehouse, a project located just outside of Chambersburg, in Greencastle, PA. This project demanded careful planning and execution, especially in supplying the extensive amount of pipes and fittings required to construct 60” and 48” detention systems integral to the project.
The drainage system consisted of 5 systems: two 48” diameter and three 60” diameter pipe systems. These were supplied directly through LB Water in collaboration with Advanced Drainage Systems (ADS) and US Pipe. Overall, the pipe totaled 90,000 ft and about 900 truckloads. The size and scale of this project was a large undertaking and required immense product and manpower.
Throughout this venture, the LB Water team collaborated closely with Mele & Mele & Sons, ADS, and subcontractor Guyer Brothers, who performed the pipe installation. These teams ensured coordination to mitigate any costly potential delays. Working with their ADS sales representatives, Vincent O’Brien and Casey Shine, they proactively managed to keep products on track and prevent disruptions due to material supply.
Led by Vince Oswald and supported by Kevin Robertson, the LB Water Pittsburgh team demonstrated exceptional communication and organization, facilitating uninterrupted material supply. This project was undertaken at the height of the COVID-19 Pandemic, creating obstacles that required additional coordination and management by the LB Water team. By staying ahead of production expectations and maintaining excellent communication, they minimized downtime during the construction process, saving time and resources.
