LB Water - Stoneboro After-Hours Emergency Service

Learn how LB Water - Stoneboro helped Ashtabula County Port Authority (ACPA) during an emergency over the New Year holiday.

Background

The Ashtabula County Port Authority (ACPA) initiates economic development and serves Ashtabula County and throughout Northeast Ohio. ACPA works to propagate growth and expansion throughout Ashtabula County and works with local government and business entities.

The Problem

On New Year's Eve, ACPA became aware of a large leak in their cast-iron water main, buried 30 feet below the ground surface. Upon inspection, the leak was found to be six feet long and two feet wide, presenting an urgent issue. ACPA promptly contacted Union Industrial Contractors, Inc. (UIC) to address the issue promptly. The objective was to repair the leak by January 4th, but due to the inability to procure materials from their usual suppliers within such a short timeframe, the earliest available delivery date for the materials was January 9th.

The Solution

UIC reached out to Jim Haworth, Outside Sales Representative at LB Water - Stoneboro, to find the necessary materials. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Haworth enlisted the help of Jerrod Perrine, Stoneboro Assistance Location Manager, and Tyler Novak, Stoneboro Location Manager, to ensure a full-team effort. Novak then promptly mobilized the help of his own location and five other LB Water locations spread across Pennsylvania. Additionally, he tapped into a key customer relationship to expedite the process and ensure the materials were available. By January 4th, two days after UIC reached out to LB Water, the materials were successfully delivered to the designated job site. After working for several days, UIC needed additional materials that were delivered on Sunday, January 7th.

Throughout delivering the product and the installation process, LB Water provided valuable on-site support to ensure accurate and quality use of products. The job was completed and the emergency was remedied.
